Unrestrained Remarks by Jamaat Leaders; Show-Cause Notices Issued

During the continuous rule of the Awami League, the party’s political activities largely remained behind the scenes. After the 1994 mass uprising, Jamaat entered open politics. However, there seems to be little restraint on the statements of its leaders. Controversy continues to follow them, with leaders making controversial remarks every few days and sparking public debate. Several leaders have even been issued show-cause notices. Top leaders of Jamaat have stated that if anyone repeatedly makes controversial statements, appropriate action will be taken.
